The demise of Esaki tissue really has folks in a dither! What is Mount Fuji Japanese tissue? How does Mount Fuji tissue compare to Esaki?

We too were dismayed when we recognized symptoms of an end to Esaki approaching. Two years prior we did two things, put out an open order to buy as much Esaki as was still on the shelves, and initiated a search for a replacement. We still have our Easy Built Lite domestic tissue, which some modelers prefer over Esaki as they find it easier to work with and love the color selection and understand it is not intended to be applied wet. We have some colors of Esaki tissue still available. But when it's gone, there is no more. Mt. Fuji is the new Japanese tissue to replace Esaki. I'm covering my own planes with Mt. Fuji. After 2 outdoor seasons the red and yellow do not show any difference in color. Both Mt. Fuji and Esaki have good grain, good shrinkability, same sheet size, and good UV resistance. In addition Mt. Fuji has a broader color selection, is more opaque, and has good wet strength. Cons, Mt. Fuji is slightly heavier.
