Roscoe Turner's Meteor
Kit FF-91 Roscoe Turner's Meteor is a 1/15 scale, flying model.
Pre-1942 design, eligible for Society of Antique Modelers (SAM)
contests. This is a complete kit and includes all the materials
necessary to construct a flying scale model of one of the three
versions of Turner’s race plane, the ’37 Ring Free, the ’38 Pesco
Special or the ’39 Champion. The kit is based on the 1939 Easy
Built Models’
plan but has been updated to reflect today’s designs and materials.
This is standard stick and tissue construction utilizing the Box
and Former method of construction. The kit is eligible for
Flying Aces Club events including Old Time kit, Thompson Races,
Golden Age, and FAC Scale. Roscoe Turner is the only three time
winner of the Thompson Trophy Race which he won in 1938 and
1939 in his Meteor race plane.
This free flight
rubber powered kit contains a full-size rolled plan, building
and flying instructions, printed balsa wood, hand-picked balsa
stripwood, rubber motor, propeller, nose package, vacuum-formed
wheel pants and canopy, wheels, TissueCal markings
for all three versions (Champion, Ring Free, and Pesco), and Easy
Built Lite light grey tissue. You

"It flies ROG. First flight it hopped in a left hand circuit.
I made a few adjustments then it took off about 3 foot from the
ground. I only put 500 hundred turns on for its test flight.
I had a grin from ear to ear." - Dave Fisher
