Kit FF-45 Percival Mew Gull is a 1/24 scale flying model of the famous
1930s British racing plane. This kit uses the Box and Former method of construction.
Pre-1942 design, eligible for FAC Dime Scale and Society of Antique Modelers (SAM)
Alex Henshaw's Percival Mew
Gull won the 1938 King's Cup Air Race at an average speed of 236.25
mph over a triangular course of 1012.14 miles - the fastest ever
recorded by a British aircraft. In February 1939 Henshaw
flew a Mew Gull from England to South Africa and back in just
4 days 10 hours and 15 minutes, smashing the previous record.
These records still stand today.
This free flight rubber powered kit contains a
full-size rolled plan, building and flying instructions,
hand sorted printed balsa and balsa stripwood, rubber
motor, E-B propeller, EBM thrust bearing, clear plastic for the
windshield, wheels, wire, and Easy Built
Lite tissue in white.
You will need a building board, hobby
knife, fine sandpaper, and glue.
